New Mobo?

Hi all, I am a complete newbie but this laptop I have now reminds me of an old Celeron PC I had, its slow and laggy when I try to play games and I want to upgrade. Problem is everyone tells me I've got a snowball's chance in hell of upgrading it, especially since the tech guy at Toshiba told me my graphics card is fused onto the mobo... and the only thing I will be able to change is the memory.

But sometimes getting a second opinion helps, so I want to know if there's hope for my machine. I am looking to upgrade my processor to a 3.0 ghz pentium 4, 1gb RAM, and a geforce 6800 vid card.

here are the specs:

Toshiba Satellite L25-S119
Windows XP Home Edition
Celeron M Processor 1.50Ghz
190MB RAM
Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
ATI radeon xpress 200M 128mb
conexant AMC audio

Was wondering if there's anything I could do, like buy a new mobo, if so please recommend something. I'm trying not to overclock because I need something stable (not exactly the most careful person)

Sorry man, no hope for that rig, it looks like it is about 5 years old. The toshiba guy was right. Best bet would be to get a new laptop. That one has bit the dust...

yeah laptops are notorious for being un-upgradable. most laptops only allow you to upgrade the ram and HD. best bet is to switch to a desktop rig or buy a new laptop.

System Specs

a quick google search brought me to this review by pc magazine. from the looks of it, it is a rather new lappy, not old as Zion said . umm, but yea....you're stuck at just upgrading the RAM, HDD, but you can also upgrade the CPU to a Pentium M processor if you'd like . just look into what the fastest chip it can support, and buy that (if you can afford it that is)....between new CPU and new RAM, you should see a significantly noticable increase in overal performance
