i think your Sony VAIO model number is PCG-FRV26, not Pcg-fr26.

read this... Is my processor x64 Capable? - http://msmvps.com/blogs/xperts64/arc.../19/81462.aspx

your computer's CPU maybe one of these....

Mobile IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor
http://www.intel.com/products/proces...ium4/index.htm

the CPU is not support EM64T, therefor you can't run the XP x64 Edition.

HELLO PANGING
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP...YOU HAVE ALL REASON THIS MODEL VAIO PCG-FRV26 DOESNT SUPPORT WIN X64 BECAUSE PROCESSOR DONT HAVE "EM64T" SUPPORT.
I FOUND THIS CHIP DETAIL VIA EVEREST ULTIMATE FREE EDITION.
DO YOU KNOW IF I CAN CHANGE THE PROCESSOR TO MAKE POSSIBLE THE SUPPOT TO WIN X64???
MY INTENTION IS TO WORK WN X64 WITH CAKEWALK SONAR 5 X64 EDITION FOR MUSIC PRODUCTION.
THANKS A LOT!!

no, it's not possible.
you cannot modify the existing hardware on your VAIO to support the XP x64 Edition.

no problem.

these are Intel processors that are designed for notebook computers... none of them are x64 capable...

Intel Centrino mobile technology Processor Family... Intel Pentium M Processor 7xx, Pentium M Processor Low Voltage 7xx and Pentium M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 7xx/7xxJ.

Intel Celeron M Processor Processor Family... Intel Celeron M Processor 3xx/3xxJ and Celeron M Processor Ultra Low Voltage 3xx

Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor 5xx supporing Hyper-Threading Technology.

to run the XP x64 you must have a computer system with a processor, chipset and Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS,
and also you'll need to have the 64-bit device drivers for all the hardwares that you want to use with the computer system.

anyway, you'll need to check the computer's hardware specifications that you want to buy to make sure that it will be able to serve your needs.
