Laptop Locks? How safe are they?
I am in need of a way to secure my laptop at work from some 'questionable' people. I keep an eye on it AT ALL TIMES, but sometimes like when i goto the toilet and lunchroom etc i need to leave it for up to 5 mins. I just watched a video where some german guy beat a kensignton lock in under 30 seconds with a roll of toilet paper and a bit of tape. So are these things really as safe as they seem?
And what are the best ones on the market?edit: here is the link http://www.toool.nl/kensington623.wmv

most of the lock clips on the laptop itself are plastic and not metal anyways.....so I never saw the point

I know its not the best way, but i just want to deter anyone thinking about it because i work right next to the door which is right near the elevator so it would be a matter of 10 seconds someone would need to quickly grab it and go. If its attached to the desk at least that will give me a good response time if anyone tried to take it.
