Extending Laptop to Television

I have about given up. I am attempting to run my laptop on a television and all attempts have been unsucessful. I have done it before but with a different cable and a different television. I am using a 7pin(male)Svideo out -RCA Video (female) converter. With a standard RCA (red, yellow, white) cable running to the TV.

I plug it in, set the tv to Video 1, go to control panel -> display -> advanced -> displays and it does not recognize all three of the TV's I have tried.

I have attempted to switch from Omega to Catalyst drivers with no avail. Neither worked. My last attempt is to roll all the way back to the manufacturer drivers because I think thats what I used the first time. If anyone else has any other advice i'm all ears.

Thanks
