Wow, that is truly amazing on so many levels... not only is the detail and quality around that of a large-format normal film setup, the uncompressed .tif is 40mb! Wow...

I still prefer the Canon EOS-1DS's feel, and control layout over the Kodak... (Even though its only 11.2 MPixel)

Film Camera's are still better quality than Digital, although the 11.2/14MPixel is getting close to 35mm quality.

Yes, I agree that good film cameras are better than digicams, but if you don't have $500 film camera, digicam is better

LMFurryAO ....
Studio quality 6x6 maybe... LOL... a 35mm is not really all that good for anything that is going to get blown up to large sizes... unles you are using something like 90speed black/white film... but even then ... you are not going to be able to move anything... or take a shot of anything moving.
but then again ... b/w photography is beautiful

I agree on this - B/W is much nicer than in color, and pictures are cleaner... etc.

It depends - I think having vibrant color is best for nature shots etc. where you have large vistas of beautiful scenery...

Well, color works much better in digital photgraphy than in analog ones (but it depends on some other factors too).
Anyway, I downloaded 40MB TIF of the third girl in school... coming with ZIP disk on monday

not all film is created equal. kodak film is a little more true to life, but if you are taking pictures of something with very bright colors, kodak film tends to mute the color. Fuji film however seems to take colors that are already there, and make them very vibrant.
I have a minolta Maxxim 7. It is a good camera, and I tend to use 200 speed film. Since I bought my digital, I never use it anymore. Film is expensive when you go out on long hikes, and you go through 20 rolls of film. Or I can bring my digital with two 128MB cards, a 64MB card, and an 8MB card... and take pictures to my hearts content
The ultimate Digital camera for me would be a Hasselblad with two film backs, and a digital back.
That would be simply amazing

Or alternately you could just get an old trusty ruggedized mil-spec laptop instead of all of those expensive memory cards, and then every time you are done with one memory card, you just quickly boot up and transfer everything over in your backpack while using another small card I've done that before, though it wasn't my personal gear, and I must say that it was damn fun (then again, I've never tried the whole multiple memorycard thing, which is probably more convenient...)

Damn, prices must have really dropped - it used to be around $.94 per megabyte... damn... Still, having a mil-spec laptop is useful for other things (cough802.11wardrivingcough) when you want to be able to walk around and not crash your hard drive...
