It's a really good picture(is render the correct term?), but I'm having some trouble as to what the actually event taking place IS. Two nuclear bombs? I realize it's the end of the world, but can we get a backstory to help better appreciate/put into context this nice piece?

a series of them as a screen-saver with marquee text entered into my mind as well, but it began to sound like 2001 a space Odyssey

I guess you're right Zardon. And if you're going to the 2001 theme fallang, maybe that is a picture of when David Bowman comes back to Earth and blows the nukes that are in orbit to use as energy.

my concept for the piece as is often in my mind is very strong. when im creating something I tend to try and get myself into a place or zone so I can get something from my head out.
The year is 2025.....the last war is over, mankind has finally destroyed himself. One sole survivor on a spacestation has escaped the aftermath. He contemplates his destiny, he dwells on his isolation, on the edge of space and decides he too must end his existance, was man ever worthy of existance in the first place? destruction, violence, greed, hatred, pain, suffering.........
As he writes his final words he detonates the final two bombs left on the station ............ peace.
Ive probably ruined it now...... but I hope someone took something from it.

Very cool. The poetry makes the picture I think.
BTW, you render those yourself?! Very talented.

HAL
If you do that now without Earth
contact the ship will become a
helpless derelict.
BOWMAN
I am prepared to do that anyway.
HAL
I know that you've had that on
your mind for some time now,
Dave, but it would be a crying
shame, since I am so much
more capable of carrying out
this mission than you are, and
I have such enthusiasm and confi-
dence in the mission.
BOWMAN
Listen to me very carefully, Hal.
Unless you immediately release
the hibernation control and
follow every order I give from
this point on, I will immediately
got to control central and carry
out a complete disconnection.
