Alien
Wow, how long has it been since i last posted! It's good to see Driverheaven is still about, not that i doubted it would be. I'm also glad to see Falstaff is flooding the forum with pictures - champion. Anyway, the reason i am returning is that i've only now got myself a stable home a decent computer and i've just got my old tablet back from a friend i lent it to.
I'm hoping for some constructive criticism and ideas to further this picture. this is one of my few digital paintings and like i say i've not done anything arty for hmm.. years? This alien was painted from scratch, i can still remember Zardons words of wisdom mostly about over contrasts and having areas of pure white means no details and im hoping to learn some more.
I've kind of reached as much as i can do with this.. all done in photoshop

OT?
Thanks it feels good to be back.
after thinking about this and using a little commonsense, i'm assuming it means 'off topic'

great to see you back dan. you are a creative guy, really pleased you came back.
like the second image you did. id lose some of the bright stars and maybe have a go at a wormhole, an asteroid field or a planet and a surrounding aurora? should give a nice background image, and you can always keep the focus soft to draw attention to the foreground?
just some ideas but ignore me, might be the drugs im still taking from my bike accident a month ago.....

i considered there being more in the background but i was worried about taking focus away that and i'd spent so long on the alien and trying different backgrounds i wasn't happy with i just gave up lol. Thanks for your comments, i respect your opinions greatly after all you are the most qualified of all to do so.
Sorry to hear about your accident hope it wasn't anything too bad!

Yeah, from scratch and i didnt even use a reference for the initial sketch, which is something i'd not been able to do before. Thanks and i'm glad you like it!

Where'd you get Lincolnshire from? I guess you're not too far away - Norfolk, England
