they really are fast little beggars aren't they.
he really didn't like the camera flash either btw, poor little mite. that's why I stopped taking pics and only ended up with one usable one.

when it comes to ladybugs yeah, that's probably only the third or fourth I've ever seen in my life (hence why I went to efforts to photograph it).

midge you just can't understand how horrible the little bastards are. note the quote a couple paragraphs down: "The Highland midge is found in large numbers in the Scottish Highlands.
They are famously vicious".
