Ladybug

I know, it's a silly pic to post, but the damn thing was so fecking hard to photograph (I had to give up on the gf's canon and steal the batteries out of the sky remote for my minolta in the end) I had to post the only one that came out well and in detail.
I really like ladybugs, they fascinate me for some reason. I think they're supremely cool

note the stylish positioning on the side of my fiancee's hairdye

I didn't know that this bug is called "ladybug" in English.
Its Czech name translated to English could be something like "seven-pointed little-sun"

he really didn't like the camera flash either btw, poor little mite. that's why I stopped taking pics and only ended up with one usable one.

when it comes to ladybugs yeah, that's probably only the third or fourth I've ever seen in my life (hence why I went to efforts to photograph it).
but we do bugs in Scotland, oh yes.
until you've experienced the dreaded midge you just can't understand how horrible the little bastards are. note the quote a couple paragraphs down: "The Highland midge is found in large numbers in the Scottish Highlands. They are famously vicious".

Hehe, that's far out. In sweden we call them "Key-Maids".., which is inexplicable but not at all as funky.

I think "Ladybug" is more the US version, "Ladybird" is a more common name in the UK, maybe because of the children's books of the same name.

Looks like a 7 spotter, they bite more often than the 2 spot (not badly, just a momentary needleprick if it tests to see if you are edible).

http://www.harlequin-survey.org/ - there are some invasive species spreading, which not only eat greenfly, but the eggs of native ladybird species
