A quick sketch or two
Hey, I threw these on paper yesterday while setting up a printer at work. The first one was while the software was installing (less than five minutes) and the second one was a time trial three minute sketch. The top one is the same character from the bottom one, but the top one was from memory and the bottom one was copying what was on the screen. Both are done in ball-point pen.
PS, plus 1 cool point if you can name the series that's from, plus 5 if you can name the character.

I wish I had a bigger scanner, I have a few full page (artist pad) pictures from a couple of years ago. One of them took me about 3 hours, and I still consider it one of the best things I've ever drawn.

At one point I was great at drawing the ladies, but i quit sketching for about two years, and now that I'm getting back into it it's hard for me to draw them anymore. I'm going to try to get my scanner working here, but I think I need xp for that.

Nice work. Do you plan to progress it into some thing more? Or was playing about one day
p.s. Kinda reminds me of Ganju from Bleach.

Well, I started sketching in 4th grade, marvel stuff. Hit a rut until about 7th grade where I started into anime and manga, and then joined an artist guild when I was 16 and learned a lot from them.
After high school though, all my practice time (aka class) was gone, so I never did it anymore. I still sketch in class in college, but it's not as easy to do, I have to pay closer attention. Plus, when you're learning about how operating systems work, you kinda want to learn it, so you pay attention.
I think it's a fun hobby/passtime, but I don't ever plan on going pro, and I know I don't have as much talent as a lot of guys do. My work, (people, landscapes, objects etc) always seems very flat. The only way I can get depth is if I'm copying something. For years that's been something I haven't been able to over-come.
EDIT
Good guess, but it's not Ganju. The sketch is much closer to what the character looks than that.

You know Zardons work is good too, but I guess it is the just the beginning of his artwork as with mine. I put it aside because I never found the time realistically to do a good job.
