As a Graphic designer i would say it needs more work
Personally i like the idea but it's somehow to much abstracted for my taste with all these blur around the planet
I hate my works depending too much in effects and too much in photoshop type of filters

I know there are quite alot of programs out there that will help someone achieve a really nice "space" type of creation. It seems that with all the software, one merely needs to apply layers of color and effects to very benign and uninteresting pictures. I do enjoy all the colour though.

Yes the colors are nice especially around the center where he has put a planet but he can make it look better without using too much blur or any blur at all.
By the way Falstaff your signature is great especially the animated letters part
It's very nice for a personal flash banner

I have used Bryce 3D and Photoshop to as well as Corel products to get decent wallpaper quality shots but it seems the more dramatic effects are achieved with very little in the way of manipulation. In fact it seems that filters achieve a great deal more. I think that the space themes are a great deal more challenging for someone like myself, therefore I appreciate it when someone trys to do their best.

yea, it's all about experimenting for me. I normally just do sigs, and my computer really isn't powerful enough to get into the 3d rendering scene. Although, i do want to get away from the whole sig scene.

ahhhhh...
there are some online tuts out there as well as what Zardon came up with, have you used them or do you think they are valuable? I have a subscription to Adobe Photoshop magazine but it comes from England and takes for ever to get here.

they are valuable imo, just some have different ways that work just as well. I've learned just from experience, never liked tutorials, seemed like i was copying someone's work. Regardless, it's good that Zardon is showing people how to do stuff in photoshop (he has been teaching it for 10 years), very appreciative of that.
I've been messing around in Photoshop for upwards of 2 years

I have never seriously used it all for the most part, I use a variety of software to accomplish whatever task I am trying to finish, but for the most part I just muck along. There are some peculiar things about Pshop that are not intuitive at all.

I can make one cd's, gimmie some time, i just got back from a fishing trip on the Little Red River in Arkansas. Got into some major trout, and we saw a bald eagle nail one right out of the river, it was AMAZING. Maybe i'll put some pictures up later on. Anyway, time to continue unpacking and restarting my life
