divine impact
99% painted in photoshop v.7 (i took a few textures to make the planets)
Got bored on my day off so i painted this. Not much to say about it, though i think i am pretty happy with certain parts of it. like the rocks \ meteors and the lighting on them. I was thinking of making a walkthrough to show how i made it. Would anyone be interested in that?
Comments always welcome, help me get better!
edit - cropped, shrunk image size, lowered quality so its more viewer friendly, if you are interested in seeing close to full size image then check my DeviantArt, [link to appear here soon]
and now v.2 (sorry i didnt shrink this as much)

Well, using grunge brushes to make the planet look more alive doesn't quite do it. I like the nebule on the sides of the planets, perhaps try making multiple layers of brushing and edit their colours.
Good overall.

gorgeous stuff.
The planet looks almsot like it's being seen through a heat bloom though. It's sort of "rippled"....wonder what it would look like if you blurred it a bit to soften it up and take away some of the texture[leaving the color patterns, but losing the rippley fibrousness of it]

Very, very nice jufo. Im sure a lot of people would love to know how to do this. I intend on doing more artwork instead of sigs, once i get home and find my photoshop discs.
Life without photoshop upsets me........

Great stuff there. I do like the new design alot more. I have no doubt that you feel the same about it.
The stars to the right of the planet look really uneven. Try changing the opacity there and it should fix your problem. Altough the stars all around look just a bit uneven the stars on the right just jump out. (I do hope you put the different star brushes on different layers....otherwise take a eraser and go over them with the opacity down to 15-20%)

woah, must be my monitor because i didn't know what you where all complaining about lol now im seeing it on my mums TFT the collision effects are way too pixelated, the planet does look over textured and the stars do stand out a little too much. gutted i always thought my monitor gave a good representation.
thanks for the comments.

Well, you will hear critisism from me, must be because I am a snippy sob with a colosall ego according to some. Don't be offfended but learn from it as I am trying to help you.
Well, there's just one more advice I can give you: Get a new monitor. LOL

lol, thanks
i dont mind advice sometimes you put it across in a poor manner, as if you are trying to be arrogant and assume you are greater than others, which to be honest you are far from that with certain people. Though i am aware you are trying to help and encourage me not trying to prove you are better, so i am on your team Mr. Gazz
Thanks for the comments, and is there going to be any help in buying this new monitor cos i'll need it

Sup dan.
I actually really liked it though I thought perhaps the all white impact could do with a an extra something, though i guess this is where the divine part of it comes into it?
Very FFVII imho, which is never a bad thing. I like the version two best as the meteor constrasts with the planet better for me. Great stuff how long did it take to make and yes a tutorial would be v cool : )

Thanks bro.
The white was initialy to symbolise the divine aspect of the title. Then i found any colour against the colouring of the original planet looked bad so i just left it white.
No idea how long it took, a few hours i can tell you.
Might make a 'how i made it' thing as i kept saving the PSD when i was changing designs.
Nice to see you around again Azure x big kiss x

It's disturbing. I'm not going to get technical ('cause I couldn't even if I wanted to), but I like it, it got to me, especially v2.
