My avatar: revisited
Once upon a time I made a thread in DH, asking for a new avatar, so wertret was kind enough to create my current avatar which rules supreme. Back then it was created for 64x64 / 10k in mind, so nowadays that most forums allow larger/bigger avatars, I have to resize it. And by resizing it, quality = drops If you also remember, I recently asked directions about creating lightning effects in PS, because I wanted to try to re-do my current avatar in a larger resolution, so I can then scale it as I see fit. Well, I suck at it
Anyone proficient enough with gifs to help me out? All I want to do is re-create my current avatar in a larger resolution, so that whenever I want to create a new version of it, it won't have any artifacts (meaning I'll have to downscale it and not upscale it).
Thx

exactly like your current? did you want a colour change if not design change - a deeper blue like your sig?
also is the current shape how it should be, with the bulge on the bottom right?

Yup, deeper blue would be nice. And yes, it should be like my current; K in the middle and lighning coming out of it, just like the one I have now.

I think it's a tad too bright tbh... would it be too much trouble to make it darker?

Lotsa quality loss and you get a 200x200 pixel ava? w00t!!! I can try to make one a bit clearer if you want but I doubt it'd be any good...

Theres not any where near the same amount of quality loss as there would be in just a resize e.g.

Plus i didnt know what size to make it, the request was bigger so he could downscale rather than upscale..
I think the quality loss is mostly due to .gif compression

What do you think? The only prog I know and use is Ulead's GIF animator, and I use that to downsize

I'll see what i can do about re-creating it from scratch tonight, so as to eliminate your quality loss altogether...
Bjork font letter K...and some KPT electrify filters across, hmmm, 3 frames....4???
what size do you want?
110x110?
125x125....you're staff...take your pick
[just don't make it bigger then Zardon's..he gets envious ]

My initial thought was to have something like 196x196, 200x200 etc, so that I can adapt it to the various forums I've joined (you know, different forums, different avatar specs). It's easier to work with a full-quality avatar and lesser the size/kilobytes than having a 64x64 avatar, 10k and resize it to 96x96 or whatever.
Guys I really appreciate all your effort, glad to see very talented people hanging out in here

KPT electirfy filters are what I'm assuming wertret used in that avatar.
"electrify" is the name of one filter in the KPT Effects package, put out by Corel.

you mean like this? (hopefully danjufo doesnt mind me useing his base
or th logo as I'd not the time right now to do it proper )
I could make it mor of an animation insted of each frame being a readom lighting
effect, I used the random button, insted i could make monor chages to the setting
to make the efect move but this was a "quickie" I've got get to bed! I can do
the same thing with your siggy!
