i mean, its not that i dont know what they do or what they sound like, its just deciding between a harmonizer, a phaser, a flanger or a distortion pedal >.<

Mmm, distortion. I just use the Drive on my amp for that, though but I've got a Black Coffee metal distortion pedal and I really don't use it much. Depends on what you play.. what's your style?

It depends what you want to play, are you going for hard rock, then use heavy distortion [which is probably already on your amp]. Or, you can buy a pedal board and get a whole bunch of sounds. Or.... buy a Line 6 spider 2 75 watt for about 300 bucks, which has almost everything http://www.line6.com/spiderII/about_112.html
and the best sound I have heard from an amp with that many effects.

Yeah, before you go out and buy any pedals, you should think about upgrading your amp. I suggest the one I said above, they make a 30 and 15 watt edition too for alot less, it's just the 75 watt one lets you hear it's whole potential.

Agreed!
I agree not to waste money on pedals right now.
As for amp suggestions, I just got THIS BAD ASS HOT ROD DELUXE used for $250. Unbeatable. . .just like a car, let someone else pay the depreciation.
Good luck,

ok amp power ratings
to increase the volume output by 3db, the minimum NOTICABLE difference, you have to double the power output
so get something more powerful than the 30w one you where thinking of

Yeah, and don't forget too that less reputable companies will fudge that power rating.
I played last weekend in a medium sized room and had the clean channel on 3, and it was plenty, despite being rated at only 40 watts.

75w would be decent
but make sure the rating is RMS not Peak/PMPO
