I wish I could remember...
She wept as he went away and boarded the plane that flew beyond the coast of her land.
In her heart she carried so much that wieghed her down and in her belly a tiny little man.
Young and strong she bore it all with a quiet dignity and a grim determination.
She went home to an empty house full of silence, and he flew on to the Radar Dew Line to defend his nation.
Hopes and dreams demand so much from her soul and her heart
He lives atop a mountian radar site and the distance nearly tears him apart.
The postwar world is full of danger and years of determined sacrifice and loss
She prays for his safe return everynight and will protect her unborn child at any cost.
Chinese and Russians, and Americans endure the vigilent posture and stare
beyond the place where the oceans meet the sky.
The radar technician bundles himself against the cold, and his lonely wife finds comfort in the green dial of the radio and says a prayer and silently cries.
A year passes quickly and America raises a forest of missles that can travel across the sky to destroy their destination.
A grateful country sends him home from the arctic cold, back home to embrace his wife and his nation.
She thrust a small son above the heads of an desperate and eager crowd.
And he saw his little son perfectly formed, perfectly dressed and perfectly loud.
The fear and the worry and the loathing and the contempt
for the time spent away from each other was quickly spent.
Between them they struggled with the bags and combed their sons hair.
folded up the map to another airforce base and left in the old white corvair.
Maybe its best that I cant recall the very first year I came to be.
but I can listen to them tell me over and over again, how much they wanted me.

well i guess for some people it's easy, but for me personally talking about my feelings or experiences is sorta hard to describe most of the times. could never really find the right words...

try to place yourself outside your feelings for a moment and listen to yourself as you would a tale from an older person, or a passionete person, try to write as if you would like others to feel it or enjoy it.

thanx, I often get wrapped up in all the what ifs and my own troubles, but me father and mother tried so hard and endured much more than I ever did at that age, to keep me warm and keep me safe, on this my birthday, I wish them well, and thank them for the desperate years when the world was losing its innocence.

Drakon... the thing is when you express yourself, it does not always have to be direct. That is where people can get a misconception about always having the right words. My poems dont necessarily mean I am suicidal they are just a way of expressing the way i feel about life. I am sure you can write yourself... along with jeff i'd be glad to help you also if you would like me to

what interest you, and what if anything tranforms you, I mean even driving fast in a car or remembering happy or sad things, not regret but sort of a aquaintence with fate.
