do i have dma mode set or not, or is there some type of eroor

my windows 2000 sp3 is saying all my drives are running in pio mode. and intel applacation accelerator is saying it is running in dma mode 4(hd) and 2(dvd and cd-rom). and yes i do have set to dma mode if avilible(in the driver properties), is there a fix to this.
and yes i have set it to pio mode then back to dma if avilible and nothing happened.

I'm not sure about win2k..but..

...does it use the Intel App Accelerator to enable DMA? If so, what version do you have installed? (I think they just updated it a week or so ago)

i got hte version that came with the dell's a couple of months ago the driver date is 2001. but it was still doing that before i intsalled tthe intel program.

Can you access that sort of stuff in the BIOS? I could on my (now ancient) PIII 733 Dell...

my bios already says it it se to dma mode 4 for the hd and 2 for the dries.

Well, benchmark your hard drives and see how things go - whether they are acting like they are PIO mode or not...

2000 Behaves wierd with dma settings, I always used third party tool to deal with it...xsetup.. from xteq.com has a plugin to deal with it!
