Odd right mouse button problem -in 3D games.

In 3D games (HL2, Far Cry, Max Payne 2 etc) when I right click the assigned action occurs; but also my view will rotate upto 180 degrees instantly, usually around 30-90 degrees though (in a seemingly random direction).

I had thought it was an issue with the drivers for my Razer Diamondback, however after reinstalling older drivers, and removing them completely, I put in my old MS USB mouse (with a ball) and the same occured, thus ruling out a mouse driver issue.

I can't think what might cause the problem, it's very frustrating to suddenly turn 180 degrees after zooming in on something which is now behind you.

Any suggestions/ideas/answers would be appreciated.

My system specs if they are of any use:
Shuttle SN25P - AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego - 1024MB RAM
ATI X850XT PE (Power Color) - Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.71 (Catalyst 5.9)

Haven't heard of this, but...

Uninstall your Razorback software and device, then using your USB mouse...

Open the Mouse control panel in Control Panel. On the Buttons tab, make sure you don't have switch primary and secondary mouse buttons checked nor clicklock checked. Set the Double Click speed to mid-range...

On the Pointers tab, select Windows default (system scheme) if you haven't already...

On the Pointer Options tab, make sure that Snap To is not checked...

These setting suggestions should be the Windows default for a standard PS/2 mouse and I have never had a problem with it, hope this helps...

I've not had any PS/2 mice for years, my diamondback is USB only. I've done as suggested, which didn't work. However I have temporarily worked around the problem by assigning the right mouse button to a key (single quotation mark) and mouse button 4 to 2 (menu button). Clicking the ' button (right mouse button) doesn't cause the view jumping, so a success from a being able to play games point of view. Pressing mouse button 4 now causes the jumping in games, fortunately I don't need it... however it makes windows harder to use.

I'm still no wiser as to what is going on.

try using the USB to PS/2 adaptor that ships with a lot of mice - see how that works

Found the problem... I've traced the problem to a script (WheelTab.js) addon to the utillity called TaskSwitchXP.
