If you talk to my older son, he'd say the best thing for graphics was the AMIGA.

Your talking about the AmigaOne SE/XEs, right? The G3/G4 processor based Amigas that run on Amiga OS4?

Well, thats a pretty loaded question, pre Windows XP I would have agreed, however now its on pretty equal footing as regards to the OS, with the windows systems obviously having more horsepower. Mac OS9 didnt have basic luxuries we take for granted with XP such as protected memory, meaning if a program crashed it took the whole OS with it and anything else you happened to have loaded. With OSx of course that is no longer an issue.
so in answer to your question, not anymore.

In 1990 maybe, but the amiga was basically just commodore peripherials running around IBM/macintosh CPUs (68000 - 68040) with one of the worst operating systems (workbench) ive ever used in my life, yes I know the OS deal is personal taste but really the Amiga was just basically a poor mans macintosh, just look at the Atari ST for instance, their gem OS was just a port (not very well done either) of the First mac operating system. In those days everyone strived to be Apple, and it was pretty apparent looking back in hindsight. I loved the early 90s ---- Macintosh ruled back then, they were simply so far ahead it was incredible.
Amiga was good for gaming with its pretty revoluntary blitter graphics support and the paula sound chip, but in 2005 my watch is more powerful.
