upgrade-time, opitions/opinions
hey all
its about time i upgrade my rig. i am looking at getting a 3700 939 san deigo, with a DFI lanparty mobo. at the moment ive only got 512 of Kingmax 2.5-3-3-7. so i was wondering
1. 3700 + DFI lanparty a good combo?
2. Graphics card, should i go sli/nvidia or wait for crossfire/ati - thus different mobo (im in aus so itll take a bit to come out here)
3. regards to the graphics card should i go x800xt or whole hog with the x850? - is it worth it? also the 7800...is that worth it?
4. is the kingmax ram good and workable for the new rig, or should i get some faster ram? i'm planning on getting another 512mb anyway.
thanks
Dom

as far as video cards go, get either the 7800, or if you're patient enough, wait for the r520. the 7800 is a much more powerful card over the x850xt pe. The RAM, is good enough, but if you want to minimize issues, i would recommend you get a matched set of memory.

dunno for the r520, but for ram, even if it's from the same vendor, the chips on the RAM itself may be different.

it will not have the same serial number. how long ago did you purchase that stick of ram? if it's been like 4 or 5 months already, then you will not likley be recieving the same type. The closest thing you could be getting will be the same revision, but not necessarily from the same batch.

anything that comes in a matched set would be optimal, because they are made in the same batch.....pretty much picked one right after the other.
