Comp Probs (help)
ok sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I am not much of an overclocker myself but a sort of mate came round and he fiddled with my PC. (what kind of an ass does that) He said he was trying to overclock my CPU - he was changing figures in BIOS. He says he was looking for something but couldn't find it and he raised the 'CPU frequency' and now my PC doesn't boot up. I switch it on and the monitor just stays off and the keyboard + mouse. everything stays dead but the PC sounds normal. the fans and bits kick in normal speed.
I spoke to someone and they said i might need to raise the voltage - but how do i do that if it doesnt boot to anything?
I assume i have to get a new Proccessor \ processor + motherboard (which is ok i guess because i was going to upgrade soon anyway) but i thought i would ask here first. sorry if this post sounds i rushed -> i am at work

Moved to the Support forum. As far as your problem is concerned, bake15 hit the nail on the head. Resetting your CMOS will clear your BIOS' settings and will return to default which should allow you to reboot unless something was fried. If you're not sure how to clear teh CMOS in your board, check your manual. Adjusting the voltage would not really help if the PC doesn't even POST so your only option at this point but normally, raising the voltage helps keep the processor stable at a high clock speed.
