PC & Power Cooling 510 Died!!!
To make a long story short my PSU died today. I noticed this afternoon it smelled a little weird so I started it ready to shut down until I could figure out what to do. I also checked the wattage the computer was pulling from my UPS which was around 360 which is normal, and my rails were rock solid. What happened is I was on the other side of the room, and noticed the smell started to get stronger. Walked over to the computer, noticed it was running on battery & power shutting down; I noticed the smoke coming out of the back of the PSU...hit the power button on the back.
The rest is history.
So my alternative..OCZ Powerstream 520 135.00 from excaliberPC.

I bet the PC-P&C 510 is under warranty-- isn't it? Was it dusty in there or did a component fail?

I popped the PSU open, and it looks like one of the inductors got really, really hot. I'm not sure if that was the problem or not. It is under warranty still..5 years, and I bought it last April or February. Probably going to sell the new replacment PC & Power Cooling sends me.

I'm back up and running finally. Would of been last night, but good news is I didn't lose anything. So far I'm very impressed with the new supply...quieter...drawing less wattage (282-288W). I was even able to take all the splitters out too for my power connections. There still are plugs left over!!

Glad you're better now That is a great power supply. Just a tad out of my league though.
Enjoy!
