the problem with pushing vcore to its limits is 2fold. 1st is heat & reuction of component life. second-&this is related to 1st- is no psu is 100% stable. sometimes you are going to get mini spikes. if you are already running vcore at max.....
i run my 2.4 at 1.6. gives me a very stable oc at 3.1. without the risk. at least not as much anyway.

if you are going to bump up the vcore & test your oc limits i would highly rec(if you have note done so already) getting a better cooler. intels work fine if you are just doing basic oc'ing, but you need something better if you are going to really push it.
