a good notebook pc?

well, my dad's grad gift to me is a notebook pc (since mom is upgrading my desktop)

i was going to wait until school started, but i'm going to florida to visit my uncle and i need a pc w/ me. and i don't trust shipping my desktop down there.

now my dad is willing to spend around 1000 dollars for this baby, and as i've been shopping around i've noticed that won't get much. so i'm gonna throw in some of my own money to get one that can game. all i really want to be able to play is CS. i don't play much else. and i know for 1300USD or so that's about all i can afford.

what company do you guys recommend? HP looks like they have some good deals. for $1,299.00 i can get a pentium 4 3.0ghz w/ HT, a 128mb radeon mobile 9600, 512mb of pc2700 ram, and 60gb hd (add 75 to bring it up to 5400rpm from 4200)
