Nvidia's IDE drivers give a performance boost but you will not be able to burn cd's and dvd's and programs that require Aspi may not work or be able to read your cd-rom.

Well last time i chose yes, my system hosed. I can't say it was those drivers. But it was. lol. My whole motherboard fell apart driver wise. Man it was a right mess. I'm never touching the nForce drivers again

I say no- I've tried them every time they came out with a new one- They ALWAYS mess up my system and they never work. I wouldn't do it again.

here is the full deal on that....

If you have cd buring issues use the software ide driver, other wise i'd notuse it! It's lower and has a history of hdd corruption in some cases.... It's most famous for being a alot slower driver. I stick with the windows defaults!

...........

If you want pm me and i'll hook you up with the latest that out there! my personal remix that i use for my system... It is not anything in a state for release! figure it a beta set just becouse it woks well on mine doest mean it won't take a dump on yours

NVIDIA System Utility 1.00
Audio driver 4.09
Audio utilities 4.08
Ethernet driver 3.46
GART driver 3.43
Memory controller driver 3.38
SMBus driver 3.43
IDE In-the-box 3.58
SW IDE 3.66
Installer 3.56

.............

It's a 50/50 chance on that driver....some people had issues with some didn't...on my older nforce 2 board I didn't have a single issue with it.Others have had some minor problems
