Pop Up Stopper

I was just curious if you guys had any pop up blocking software that you would recommend? I have currently been using Panicware's Pop-Up Stopper Pro...$ was right and it works pretty well, most of the time.

To be honest i Dont have to deal with many pop ups. I have used Pop Up Stop like you and found it did a pretty good job. I usually just run the built in blocker in the Google or the Alexa toolbar.

IE 6

A big security risk.

Cost: $99-199 for an operating system that comes with it.

Mozilla Firefox 0.8

Secure with lots of features.

Cost: A little bit of bandwidth.

A web browser doesn't install ActiveX and blocks all pop ups. Priceless

That's why you should switch to Mozilla Firefox 0.8.

There is NO need to buy anything to stop pop-ups. First, read my guide Here and then install Google search bar which stops pop ups. Spending money to block something that can be done for free is silly.

Thanks

I use Meaya popup ad filter - works really well and you can configure it so that the DH home page doesn't get blocked.

I'd use Firefox, if they allowed you to adjust the mouse-wheel scrolling speed . . . .

I tried Mozilla, but found it to be EXACTLY the same as Netscape 7.1, which is what I use now (it was what I used to upload to my webspace anyway). Blocks pop-ups just fine (which I didn't originally realise). One day, I may try Firebird just to see if it's any better at certain site and download compatibilities.

Firebird is no more - Firefox is the new name for the (slightly) new browser

It seems to have better site compatibility than Firebird had but still not as much as IE for example

Its worth a try though.

Open
about:config
and change the value for
mousewheel.withnokey.numlines

Or you can try changing the speed in drivers for your mouse.

I set it to 5, closed and restarted Firefox . . . no change (and checking config again, it does show '5')

how about set it to use system default and then adjust the number of lines to scroll in the mouse properties... have you tried this?

but I don't wanna change how it behaves in everything else! it's no biggie, I'm content with Mozilla for now, also trying MyIE2 . . . .

I have used MyIE2 before, but I like Firefox. MyIE2 is just added features built around IE. If you have flaws in IE, then you have flaws in MyIE2. Firefox uses it's own web engine.

okay.

i use a slow connection so i like to have browser that gives me fast page loading,
Mozilla and K-Meleon are okay at most of the time, the K-Meleon is getting better on this lestest build, it uses Mozilla 1.5,
i dont know i cant get any better with Firefox like many ppls do, not when it's the Firebird either. Opera was my fav browser in the win9x time, now i'm testing on its lastest beta version, its still the fastest browser with my connection but there're still some bugs as i can see.
i think teh K-Meleon will be my fav web browser for today. not sure what's going to be for tomorrow..
