Default Post Help Me Spend Money! New Motherboard or Xbox?

I have a very simple question. I am using an FIC AN11 Motherboard......It is ATA100, No Raid Controllers, No Built in NIC, Support for 3GB Ram. I am thinking of upgrading to a new motherboard. I have an AMD 1800+ chip and a 40GB Hard Drive Capable of the new ATA133 speeds. I do not use onboard graphics. If I get an ASUS, MSI or other "Brand Name" board, what benefit will it give me? Can you tell the difference between ATA100 and ATA133? What would a new board give me that would be worth the $100 to $200? Or should I just get the XBOX I have been looking at for awhile? If there is no significant difference, I don't see a reason to buy a new board. What do yall think? New board or Xbox? You can also give me other ideas on how too spend my $400 bonus....(Please don't suggest a new graphics card)

If you're happy with your computer's speed and will be for a while, get an Xbox. It's handy to have, especially when you screw up your computer and have to reformat

bah! you computer people don't know how to choose consoles . The most powerful console isn't always the best (the same doesn't apply for PCs of course). PS2 all the way!!!! Why get an xbox when the console only has a few games worth playing?

Sounds like your pc is doing just fine for now. There's really not much to upgrade to in the CPU market right now anyway unless you want to try overclocking a 1.8A to 2.4 gig.

You will not notice any difference between an ATA100 and an ATA133 controller. Hard drives these days hardly even reach ATA66 specs.

THE ABSOLUTE CORRECT SOLUTION.... Distribute the wealth man... pass it on the left side. And yes PS2/PS1 are superior. BTW... Dallas... Nice choice of Avatar... Or should i call you Mr. Valentine from now on?
