Default Post Anyone here using DVD-R's/-RW writers or the newer DVD+RW?

Need info as to which writers and standards you feel are the best of the two. The older DVD-R/DVD-RW are compatible with the most players, have very good software support, and the DVD-R media is inexpensive. The cons are slow burning and closing time of the DVD. DVD+RW is a newer yet unproven standard that most manufacturers as pushing. The pros are faster burn time, cons expensive media, standard yet unproven, and less compatible with dvd players on the market. Thinking about getting a Pioneer DVR-AORSPK3 which is the older standard for doing some massive backups & playing around with burning some movies in a higher quality format then svcd or divx. Thanks for any info.

I have a Pioneer DVR-A04. It does DVD-R/RW (I am pretty sure) It burns 4.7gb in 25minutes total...thats not that bad if you ask me.

The A03 is half the speed of the A04.

I made a mistake on the model number it's DVR-A04SPK3. Both it and the DVR-A04 are avaliable on Newegg at the same cost. I'm not sure if the A04SPK3 is a newer revision or not?
