-= SOLVED =- Two PC2700 and CAS settings?

Hey!

I posted earlier about some weird memory writing speeds I got in AIDA32.

Could this be related to CAS settings or something like that? (around 440MB/s mem writing is not normal).

Appreciate any pointers on what is suggested for my system (sig)!

hmm try seeing if it will boot at CAS2 3 3 6

That should yield some better scores but other than that I cant really think of anything off hand.

Also make sure that both of your sticks are matched if youre trying to run in any sort of dual channel configuration.

Also take one stick out and run a test then take the other stick out and run a test

1 stick may just be bad.

I just finished tests after re-flashing my motherboard.

AIDA32 - mem test results:

read: 2510MB/s (now), 2280MB/s (before flash)
write: 1006MB/s (now), 430MB/s (before flash)

PCMark04 - mem test:

About 3100 now, earlier it was around 2100.

I'm not kidding... those are some MAD improvements right??!

Conclusion: ASUS P4S8X is one sure P.O.S board. It was only this december that ASUS released the - so called - "final" BIOS, making the board fully compatible w/ PC2700 mem:s.

I can now see all my previous issues w/ weird fps results in various benchmarks games having been fully 'healed'. Feels great, you can't imagine!
