AIDA32: Low memory writing speed!

I've got two Samsung PC2700 512MB on an ASUS P4S8X mobo. I just ran a memory test in latest AIDA32 and I got around 2300MB/s read speed but only 420MB/s write speed!!! Thats friggin half what I get on another machine w/ a very similar mobo using two Noname PC3200 512MB. There I get 950MB/s writing.

Wth could cause this low writing speed??? Is this normal? What settings in BIOS or elsewhere should I check?

Having a similar system writing more than twice as fast using PC3200 doesn't feel like all right.

REALLY appreciate any feedback you can give me!

Have the same samsung, but having (still) a KT266a, im doing 642mb/s in the mem write test..
so something is not right, could be some program hogging your system,
you could check this with taskmanager/processes if there is something tasking your cpu abnormaly.

Nope, I thought the same when I first saw those numbers... Like something MUST be raping my cpu. But usage was/is only 0-3% atm. :/

And btw... I remember feeling like my system even went slower when I installed the second 512MB acouple of months ago... Is there some setting in BIOS for dual usage or something like that? I really suck at configuring memory settings and anything related so this might be something easy...

Well you could test it with one mem strip at at the time & and in diff. slots
cant think of any setting that would slow it down so horrible...
did you read the bios guide Here on RojakPot ?
might be worth a try..
