Default Post Mozilla Tabbing

My question:

How to do you make Mozilla behave like Opera or Crazy Brower for tabbed browing? What I mean is instead of opening a new window; how can you set it to open a new tab in the same window?

Here is a cool little switch for no splash screen; of course doesn't work if you click on a link.

Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\mozilla.exe" -nosplash

You can't set it up to open up new windows as tabs as far as I know, but if you want a new tab, just press ctrl+t (you probably already knew that)

If you go into edit-->preferences and click on "tabbed browsing" under "navigator (you must expand it), you can change some settings. One setting lets you open a new tab for an address you type in the address bar by pressing ctrl+enter. The other setting lets you open new tabs for the link you click by using your middle mouse button to click. I hope that helps

if you have a wheel mouse (most probably), simply click on the wheel willl open the link in a new tab. I also use panicware's popup stopper free edition(set to aggressive) to stop new window from popping up. thus, i only one mozilla window. popup ads don't know how to open new tabs in mozilla.... YET.

Mozilla has a built in popup blocker . You just have to disable unrequested windows in the options.

Default Post Question?

What is the advantage to tabbed browsing over seperate browser windows? Is it just a preference thing or is there a performance angle?

So when I go to Rage3D (only use that as an example because I've memorized the first few forum names) I can open the Off Topic, Gaming Consoles, Classifieds, Feedback, PC Gaming, General Hardware, General Software, OS, and AIW Radeon forums at one time. Then I just click on the post I want to read in one forum, click on the next tab for the next forum, click a link there, etc, etc. No matter how slow Rage3D is going, by the time I get back to the Off Topic forum whatever link I clicked on has already been loaded.

JasonQG (from Rage3D) does something similar with his Mozilla, but he takes it to another level. One Mozilla window for each forum, and then each tab represents a thread he wants to read. That's a bit much for me..
