I have a radeon 8500 and I am considering a radeon 9000 pro
but is this a good idea?my 8500 is clocked at 275/275mhz,the radeon 9000 pro is clocked at 275/400mhz.my problem is all the test I have seen say a 8500 le is faster this does not make me belive them one bit.I have seen the card has four instead of two pipelines and the books say it should be faster.so why the low test scores.someone unlearn me.

it is indeed slower, this is one of the sites with benchmarks (slow link, be patient), ive seen more. save up and go for the 9700 or keep your 8500. |

The Rv250 is a value priced card to bring Dx 8.1 to the general public or Ati's Geforce MX ( G4MX is only DX7), Radeon 9500 will be a lowered priced version of the 9700 and is looking like a September release. This is the card you would be looking for...
We need the Rv250 badly to bring DX8 standards up so developers can start coding games for DX8 now. |

to my dismay the 9000 is ment to replace the 7500
and it does so outstandingly well.
