??? good Motherboard choice

Ive just ordered a ASUS p4c800 deluxe.
its chipset is 875,I am replacing an msi
865pe NEo2 which I never got to work properly
I was just wondering what people thought about this board (the asus1)

I was happy with the MSI board but it wouldnt work with my
p4 2.6C processor it would only work with a 2.4(533).
I had a lot of hassle with it so Im just selling it cheap.
in a lot of tests the MSI outperforms the ASUS one is this true?

System Specs

asus boards nomally bench and o/c better...

If memory sevrves me...

wasn't it none other then msi that got cougt cheating in mb benchmarks? when you run benchmarks the board detects it and the fsb automatically overclocks the fsb by it self by a good bit to obtain a higer score... then down clock after the bechmark is complete...ther was a big artical on it on tomshardware about it a while back.....

Eh...... The ASUS P4C800 and the Abit IC7-MAX3 are the top of the pick from Intel boards. Generally the Springdale (865) boards bench better at stock speeds. But the Canterwood boards (875) usually OC much better and higher and score better as well.

Asus is good, only thing that sucks is that tech support but this 'feature' is shared by many other manufacturers too.
I wish they would learn from ATI

Anyway, you should really buy the newer model, P4C800-E http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/sock...d/overview.htm
It is known as the best i875 board, better than Abit max3 which has some dimm voltage issues preventing the extreme overclock.
And the Asus is usually cheaper too.

thats some option in the bios, I have seen it where it overclocks the FSB by just 2MHz if your cpu comes under heavy load. Its not really a cheat considering it can be disabled. (Unless I'm thinking of something else)
