Fullscreen video on Win2k with WMP9

Recently reformatted so I could partition my hd, and thought i'd give win2k a try instead of winxp - and I quite like it Seems pretty fast.

But i've got a problem that didn't occur on XP, and I can't seem to fix it. Basically whenever I try to view video files fullscreen in WMP9 it just won't have it. Pressing the fullscreen button just results in the screen going black for about 4 seconds (no it's not my monitor - display mode doesn't change), then it promptly dumps me back to the original windowed view on the desktop. This is regardless of video format, what it has been encoded with etc - it does it with any video file. I've tried video clips with powerdvd instead and they go fullscreen fine in that, but the picture ratio can't be altered so they look wrong in most cases.

I really dunno what's going on :/ All drivers are latest (same versions I had on winxp actually), all latest software versions, all windows updates etc. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, as it's a function that I do make use of a lot... and don't want to have to go back to winxp so soon because of this small bug.

Thanks.
