New system - Need comments and thermal solution
Keep in mind that the case, hard drive, and monitor aren't going to this system (I'll be using components from my current system instead.) I'm going to mix and match the cream of the crop to build myself a new system and give the rest to my wife.
I also need a recommendation on a CPU cooling solution. I haven't seen very many decent options searching through NewEgg yet, I would like some input on this.
And is a 3rd party chipset cooler seriously recommended for overclocking this baby? Or will I be okay without one if I don't plan to go crazy in trying to squeeze out every last drop of performance out of this?

Everything looks nice to me. I think you are going to need to wait a few months for decent cooling solutions to be released for the AMD64 series. As yet most companies like CoolerMaster and ThermalTake have yet to release Overclocking cooling solutions for the Athlon64 series. So what you saw at Newegg is pretty much what is around Quality wise. So really the only thing I can think of is either watercooling or rigging up an aircooling system of your own. Although the ThermalTake Venus 12 (A1744) shown on their website might be a good cooler if you can find one... (not that I am really worried I can't even afford an Athlon 64)..

You should definitely go with the Prometeia for cooling. Sure its >$600 but it's well worth it. -45° - who could say no to that. The overclocking possibilities are endless! Also, they just released the CPU kit for AMD 64's so you're in luck!
Oh, and you might wanna get the new Arctic Silver 5 - it's much better than 3 and it only costs a few bucks.

I recommend the Thermaltake Silen Boost K8. I am using it and think it is excellent. Your not going to get a huge overclock out of a 3200 64 CPU. You wont get enough to justify spending a fortune on cooling.
The ThermalTake I am using is very quiet and my temps never go over 46 degrees. I am very pleased with it.

I recommend the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu CPU cooler. It's the same cooler used by big OEMs like Falcon and Voodoo.
It's got enough power to cool the Athlon FX and is also silent.

Actually, if I'm not wrong (?) I heard that the new 64's don't get as hot.

Right, it doesn't. That's why big-name OEM's are bundling the Zalman CPU cooler cuz it knows how to cool well and is quiet.

Okay, I was looking at that cooler too, but I wasn't sure what other options were out there.

Very nice. I think I wet my pants when I saw the price. Then I remembered it's American. Then I cried.

I think he's already got the seagate that's why it's in not in bold and says $0 next to it. Besides, there's nothing wrong with seagate. It's a great hard drive from what I heard, and soon will find out for myself.

And normally you can't acquire a 20" Sony Trinitron monitor for only $75. It happens to be that my company laid off a bunch of workers, and they sold off the monitors they don't need from their engineering group.
