Hard drive story!!!

Ok,

Story:

I was cleaning the other day, and found another maxtor 60 gig in the mess of computer shizzza I have around my Apartment. I plug it in, format, and put a 1 gig partition at the front of the disk.... I put the windows cache file there.... And formatted the rest for movie and mp3 space...

I am wondering if there is anything I need to know as far as the windows cache part that would speed it up....???

I see a "Small" increase in speed, but not a HOLE lot...

Also, one of my drive is saying that it now has a problem with S.M.A.R.T tech... The other doesnt ...(the newer one) But my old 60gig wont move when I setup S.M.A.R.T in the bios.... (is there any reason to have this on, and if there is... can I fix my drive to work with it again?)

Thanks again peeps!!

(Hope everyone had a AWSOME thanksgiving!!.... I know I did)

S.M.A.R.T

Those warnings aren't a good sign. Does it tell you to replace the HDD soon? Splitting your pagefile and placing it on different drives will give a small increase because Windows can access both portions of the Pagefile simultaneously.
