To give you an idea about dust in your case...

So yeah. I decided to put these thin scrubbing pads over my intake fans on the front. My case isn't anything special. Just an Antec knockoff. Two 2500rpm 30cfm fans on the front. I have SLIGHT negative pressure in my case. I can feel slight air being sucked around the cd drives and things of the such. But otherwise this is just a typical case.

I've been using these pads for over a month. This is the amount of dust I caught in these pads in just 10-12 days (can't remember). Mind you, I do have a cat and a dog, both of which are long haired. But our house overall isn't visibly too dusty. Well, it's definetly not as dusty as Craig588's house

Here we go!

Sorry for the pic quality as my webcam BLOWS!

Note to all of you. Use filters. My temps haven't skewed excessively. Yes, I can admit my temps went up 1-2 degrees. But I'd rather have that then dust all over the freaking place like Craig588

Scary...good idea though...how much impact do the filters have on air flow?

Um, truthfully. I dunno how much airflow it affects. But it's obviously not much cuz I barely see an increase in temps. Like I said just 1-2C

You'd be amazed how thick the dust was on that pad...

With all my fans I really need to do that too- but w/ nagative air pressure, doesn't dust get in the case through every little crack? I have my PCI slot covers removed so air can come in near under the video card and so my second PSU wires can come in.. Do you see a big difference in the amount of dust on the MB/ components inside your case with those scrubbies installed? How did you attach them anyway?

OH man, the amount of dust is SIGNIFICANTLY less than without the covers. Using the intake fans as example. They barely, if at all, show ANY dust on themselves. But without the pad the dust was totally all over the blades.

Yes, negative air pressure with suck air in from all over the case. But it'll suck more air from the front fans than from anywhere else.

Installation... I just simply took the front of the case off and taped the pads on there. It's easy to take off and to clean. Cleaning just simply consists of taking it outside and smaking it a few times against something then just blowing into it a few times.

Yep- that's about the difference I guess- I never even paid attention to the poscount really- I just visit about every day- sometimes post 1 time, sometimes 30 times..

wow- I just looked and you're #6 and I'm #7 in post count.. But we're really 4 and 5 because 2 of the top posters are "not with us" anymore... I didn't know that-
