What are your top picks for Firewall/Antivirus software?

Just wondering what your favorite picks are for firewall/antivirus software, I am in the new market for some since my Norton 2002(yeah it's old) didn't really work out so well for me.

I use Norton system works 2003 and I run the XP firewall.
Yes people will tell you that the XP firewall is not good enough but it is fine.
Every security site that I have gone to and ran a test on my PC has said that all of my ports are in stealth mode.
And my PC is hidden on the net. So I'm happy with the XP firewall.

I use norton Antivirus 2003. I personally just let my router firewall do all the work.

Norton's Internet security 2003 for me.

whenever i had to reinstall windows then Norton's ie.whenever re-registered my subscription date were always set from when last purchased so i lost time.

last time never registered and just let it do it's job the subscription were a full year for automatic updates.

so when there up for renewal its cheaper just to uninstall then reinstall.saves £24 for antiviras & £29 for security.

XP firewall doesn’t protect against virus or Trojans
Doesn’t protect against blaster or variants
Doesn’t protect agents DOS (denial of service) and malformed packets (crashes pc)
theres a phonebook thick list of things the xp fire wall doesnt do
Really is the absolute bare minim that all pcs should be running
(lol like how dos is the minum for a pc)
(Instead of your pants being all the way down there only ½ way down)
xp firewall tricks many into a false since of full security...
we all know how buggy/holelly ms software is...
(Xp security is as tight as an old street hooker)

If you think stealth ports will save you try again and enjoy being hacked because thay can still find you.

All the xp firewall do is keep honest people honest. If they really want in and know what there doing there goanna get in. it's better than nothing at all but barelly...

Get Norton 2003/2004 (bundled with NAV)

Norton's 2003 Av and Internet Securities for my daughter I like the parental control features. I'm also behind a router's firewall. I like as much protection as I can get.

Ok I was thinking of the Norton combo, but I have seen that McAfee has their firewall built into the anti-v package, so you don't have to pay the extra money for the firewall. Anyone have any experience with the McAfee, looks like most people so far have used Norton.

For firewall I use and Highly recomend Astaro Security Linux ( Astaro )

For Anti-Virus I use Norton Corp. V8.1 I personally recomend any Norton Product for anti-virus.....

Then with all this I run a Intrusion Detection System called PureSecure ( PureSecure )

Neowatch....excellent firewall. Simple to use but loads of functionallity. (Thanks Z for the recommendation).

Also worth a look Pc-cillin 2003 Anti-virus. It has excellent virus protection and a built in firewall. I used to swear by it but now that i have to reinstall a lot fo reviews the activation is no good for me.
