Everyone is anti-Intel. But, little do they know... Intel is a tricky one.

Oh, currently intel owns. Take a 2.4c or a 3.0c and an Abit IC7-G then that's the best rig you can have right about now. Memory bandwidth at about 6000mb/s....... YUM

I know I can get up to around 6500 and 19000 with my 3.0c.
This is the looking for extreme gamers and 'benchmarkers', I would assume at least another 500-1000 in 03 and probably break 20k with 01?

Not another Apple PROC
As far as I can tell, Apple was the only maker of CPU's that boasted L3 cache in advertisements. I have only followed INTEL, AMD, and APPLE cpus specs so I don't know the others. But if this helps the performance of the proc over my current system. I would move towards the P4 with that. Later

Just about. I know that ASUS makes a board that comes close to the Abit... but it's one of the best P4 boards on the market.

AMD did make a processor with L3 cache...remember the good ole K6-III?
Hmm...I still think I'd rather have an Operton or A64 over this though.

Reviews gave the Intel P4 (2MB L3 cache) CPUs less than a 2% improvement in performance over their traditional CPUs. It's a waste of money.

Server wise...that thing would probably work best...but for desktop computing... probably not much use for the 3mb cache.....

Eh, the AMD FX owns..... But as far as performance..... the Intel 2.4c or a 3.0c with an i875 chipset board owns.. AMD can't touch a heavily overclock IC7 series board.

I am going to need to see what happens with this chip, because according to Intel it will provide as much of a boost as a gamer machine could 'use'.
I still think right now, the 64bit chip is not worth it, and certainly not needed especialy now when the Prescots come out and P4c's drop in price.
