Need Recommend please
After last weeks dual HDD failure,
I need a recommend on a good, reliable, easy to use, and
powerful CD-RW/DVD/DVD/CD-Burner.
When it comes to these I have absolutely no-clue.
I want one that will burn anything, over-ride any kind
of Macro-copy Protection BS a CD/DVD might have on it.
In other words, a CD/DVD-Burner that kicks ass for...oh..
$200 or less.
Someone recommended Lite-On. Never heard of it.
Someone else thought that suggestion sucked because Lite-on
can't break embedded Copy Protection codes.
*I don't want to have to go looking for Code break files
on Grokster or any slime service like that either.*
Thanks, and I want to order this by Monday so if you
could be timely with your good and kind suggestion
I would appreciate it.

Nero...or some ish. That doesn't come with these things or what?
*sigh*...What software for burning would you guys recommend?

Definitely Nero for your average stuff, and DVD X Copy for copying DVD's. You also might want to read up on setting up compatibility with different box top players too. I only have info for DVD+ since my burner only supports that format. However, I'm sure other folks here can give you some good links to understand what I'm talking about.

Something that might help the advice givers out there...
I'll mainly be using this Burner to back up Data (graphics apps, Anti-Virus, etc.
record some music, (both mine and bands I like.)
I'm not looking to become a kingpin in the underground $5 a copy game pirating world.
(At least not right away... )

Both myself and Zardon have NEC DVD writers, i personally have no complaints about mine. Zardon has never mentioned any concerns with his either. Fast, never does a bad burn and works great for copying movies.

Lite-on is my god of a company, never heard about it not being able to bust the while copy-right protection, i have a cd-burner from Liteon, and it works good, not problems yet.
Lite-on sells for cheap because their drives arn't any for eyecandy, and there logo is simple (a lil clear liteonit.com sticker or somthing on the front)
