Having a hard time identifing MOBO...

This is all that's of maybe any use for info on this board

It's got an intel chipset (unknown yet)

370 socket.... Celron 533 mhz CPU (came in board)
3 ISA/ 4 PCI/1 AGP/ 3 DIMM slots/IDE/Floppy/no onboard sound and video

It doesn't say ASUS/INTEL/ABIT (etc.) ANYWERE... i can't find a website .... it's got an FCC number i think.... but other then "this may be a fire hazard...blah blah" near the cpu socket, it doesn't say anything at all...

Anyone know were i can even start?

(BTW, i'm taking a look at this board because it refuses to boot, it turns on (without hitting the power button, just flip the switch for the P.S. and boom, it's on for 5 seconds, then stops dead).... it shows a RED LED all the time... i've removed every card (even AGP card), IDE drives... you name it... running just some ram and cpu with keyboard... that's it... won't even beep.... shuts off right away.... (i think it's either seriously overheated or some dead short)

I've tried replacing PS... replaced RAM with stuff i know works... but i don't think this board even makes it past the nessary posts to get to test the ram at all... or video....

I checked the cpu (removed the heatsink) and found NO thermal paste at all (i've come across alot of systems like this... but not 450+ mhz machines)

This is a CELRON 533.... it was just metal on cpu.... nothing there...(looks oem) cause it doesn't have any writing on the cpu except for someone had taken a marker and put "CELRON 533)

Hell, i took the CPU out of the socket next, and found the Price tag sticker stuck to the underside.... I'm really hateing some of these "cirtified" techies building computer that are actually crap.... built poorly....and basically hosed on purpose (that's why i was given the task to look it over)

I have to figure out what jumpers are for the CMOS.... (nothing is labled on this except for J1 J2....etc FOR EVERYTHING...

Would most likely be the one nearest the battery.

OK, i've moved whatever jumpers from one place to the other and back again to make sure i've done the cmos (everything is back were it was)

NEXT, to make sure.. i removed the battery and put it back in again...

I applied some Thermal paste to the cpu (which doesn't look at all bad... (brand new looking)

I tried fireing it up...nothing...

(actually, when you flip the switch to the PS.. it turns on right away... bad sign.... to make sure it wasn't the switch... i moved the PSwitch connector out...and replaced it with the RESET... this way, i have to HOLD the reset button to turn it on...and i know if it is just a faulty button)

No go yet.... (just turns on for 3-5 seconds.... and shuts off).... It doesn't beep.....no video...no nothing.. I know the cpu fan spins...the VGA spins (i can't figure out what kind of Video card it is because it TOO doesn't have anything on it)

This computer isn't of any brand..... Some dolt made it for this guy.... and it ran.... sorta well enough to keep the guy happy...till now....

I've tried moving the ram around in the slots....tried different ram....tried EVERYTHING (diff vid card)....

This is how i currently have it setup:

300 WATT AMD recommended PS
533 (we think) Celron that looks good
64Mb (i know it works) Ram

That's all... i tried firing it up with just a keyboard attached... nothin...

ADD VIDEO CARD

NOTHING changes....

I'm pretty sure the ENTIRE mobo is dead seeing as i've been told that on most intel boards that have a led at all... if it's red, something is REALLY wrong...

BTW, i've checked over both the back and front of the board thoroughly to see if there are any scratches or burn marks...as well the capasitors for being black or looking burnt.... I would have to say, that this board looks like it's in mint!... however, the fans and whatnot WERE coated with smokey crime... (the people smoke crazily)...I've cleaned this sucker UP the best it could be....checked EVERYTHING over....nothing... i still can't figure out what kind of board it is.... i'm thinking of taking to a local reliable shop to get a second opinion...

OK, after doing some more figuring..i've come to the conclusion that either the CPU is DEAD or the MOBO is DEAD........ But i don't have a Cirtificate saying i'm certified.... so i take it down to a place called "Horizons" (excellent place) and get a second opinion... He comes to the very SAME conclusion... In our area... you can't get socket 370 mobo's let alone cpus.... nothing less then athlon XP 1700... Looks like the poor guys looking at a newer machine.... Thanks for your sugestions..
