monitor input level?

what is it? i changed it from 0.7v to 1.0v it makes everything darker. how is this option useful? monitor is a samsung 700 ift close to the 900 nf i think

Hmm..I know this but it's been an awful long time since I've read it. I think it has to do with the length of run from your PC to your monitor. If you have a longer run you can "boost" the signal so there is less signal degradation.
