Getting a new monitor is the only way. You calready have a r9700pro and tha card is capable of very high refresh rates at high resoloutions, but if your monitor can't handle it then it won't do any good. If you want to get a great monitor, get the Sony GDM-F520. Thats what I use on my main system. It can hit 85Hz at 2048x1600.

Is this why games can't play at certain resolutions? HOLY...MY GOD! $1,598.95 NO WAY?!

Flat panels are terrible for gaming because they can only use one res and have terrible pixel response times.

You could probably find the same monitor built by a different company for less. My friend got a monitor from Sun Microsystems that exactly identical specs to mine and it even worked with the GDM-F520 drivers, but he only paid 600$ for it becuase it didn't have the brand name on it. Just be careful because his doesn't have the built in USB hub or as good of on screen controls.

Are you a twitch gamer like me? I can;t use a flat panel becuase it blurs too much when I flick the mouse really fast.

The other thing is with flat panels they displa the image differently than CRTs so even at 60Hz the monitor should display the image correctly.

Doest Refresh Rate improve my FPS?

Not in any noticable way. Your eyes can only see about 60FPS, and of those 60FPS your brain can still only process about 24FPS. The only thing a high refresh rate would fix is flicker, and LCDs don't have flicker because of how they produce the image.
