Mouse pad
I recently bought a logitech mx300 mouse optical with wire but my old dirty gateway mousepad is causing it to shake on the screen a lttle, so im getting a new pad. So my question is, what mouse pad is good for an optical mouse? I play mainly FPS style games any recommendations would be appreciated.

You don't need a mouse pad with an optical mouse. You can put it on your desk as long as it isnt one solid color. My desk has a wood grain surface and the mouse works great on it. If the surface is only one color the mouse will have a hard time knowing when your moving it and in what direction.

GRRRRRRR! <sigh>
I still have to recomend the RatPad as the best mousing surface I've ever used, and I've tried a LOT of them! I have two, one for Blue and one for Bubbles. (My kids don't use mousepads, I guess it ain't "kewl". ) I hate recomending a product of Kyle's, but it truly is the best.

The everglide giganta is pretty much identical to the ratpad, just a bit of a different shape. (And I like the ratpad shape better, but it's a preference thing. )

My desk is a solid color also so I have to use a mouse pad. My mouse pad is 14" x 12"!! It is huge but I never run out of pad while gaming....and yes it is the classic pad with the foam on the bottom... works great too!!

you don't have to use a mousepad with an optical mouse but it sure extends the life of the feet on the mouse and keeps it sliding along nicely for many years, I didn't use one for a while and now the mouse is so hard to move with or wothout a mouse pad
http://koolpcmods.com/ there Xide Pad II looks cool, a lighted mousepad and the surface is pretty good you can also get just the pad as a Xide Pad SE for only $9.95 USD
