HP dv6646us quit seeing CD-Rom

Hey Everyone!

This HP dv6646us laptop does not see my cd-rom anymore. The model number on the drive is: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20LUnder Device Manager It shows the following CD-Rom drive (and lists it under my computer as E: HD-DVDROM Drive but always says there is no disc in it!)
XUZGP SCSI CdRom Device

Apple Itunes WAS installed but I removed it after reading somewhere else that it screws with these drivers. I also uninstalled Nero. Unforunately I cannot do a system restore in my Vista Business to a time before the drive disappeared :/

Also: I have deleted the LowerFilters in the registry - there are never any UpperFilters but this doesn't change anything.

Anybody have any ideas? Where can I find the drivers for this cdrom also? Thanks!!
