exclamation Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

Okay, something has to be seriously wrong with this lcd!

The highest resolution it will allow me to display is 1280x800. Anything higher, it will keep the settings. It reverts back to the 1280x800. Is this LCD bad, or...?

By the way, I'm using the latest release of the Windows 7 x64 drivers. I just installed Windows 7 ultimate x64.

Anytime I try to change to the native resolution, this is what happens.

Re: Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

I'm using the DVI cable. But, what I've noticed is that the DVI cable doesn't seem to have all of the pins like my other DVI did.

This is what the DVI cable looks like.

And THIS is what my other DVI cable looks like.

Re: Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

This info came off the Dell website directly:
To view the 3007WFP-HC monitor native resolution of 2560x1600, your PC must have a dual-link DVI-D compatible graphics card that supports this resolution.

and

VESA, 1280 x 800 - 50 kHz Horizontal, 60.0 Hz Vertical
VESA, 2560 x 1600 (digital) - 99 kHz Horizontal, 60 Hz Vertical

Re: Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

you need a DVI-D cable (the one with all the pins) as i believe that its not possible for single link DVI to put out 2560x1600

Re: Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

Switch the cable.. the missing pins is a single link DVI cable.... making it impossible to (without serious modification to make it work) of producing any resolution higher then 1920x1200..

Use the cable with all the pins on both ends..

They sent you this monitor with that cable provided? I would seriously give them shit for it.. as the monitor comes from dell with a very VERY heavy duty dual link DVI cable

Re: Dell 3007wfp-hc - bad?

I ran a pixel tester and everything is working perfectly!! The seller had packed this thing so tight that it could've been dropped from the rooftop of a house and it wouldn't have damaged anything. It looks as if it was shipped directly from the Dell factory.
