peterosesbookie is on a distinguished road

McAfee Spamming Users with Security Center software, etc

I went to update my system and I installed everything as usaul but there was something different. There was a security center update and was put on my system. All the update did was test my system and then wanted me to purchase the other software. This is bull shit people. To remove the SOB, I had to search for *.adf files in my search bar. Delete them and then remove it from the uninstall program list. Mcafee has served me well but I am about to change if this stuff is not fixed.

The first thing: Mcafee Schredder takes over the recycle bin and (the lay person would not know this) right click on the icon and then empty the recycle bin. You just cannot open the recycle bin click empty then click yes ( nothing happens everything stays in the recycle bin).

Another thing is Mcafee does not support drive in excess of 40 GBs because there software is based on the FAT32 system and not optimised for the NTFS system. There software states made specifically for the for Windows XP. NTFS is the better format and the default setup of a system with Windows XP.

Another is that if you clear the cmos, three months down the road after a bios update as recommened, the system clock is reset and then you can no longer get free update from Mcafee in the twelve month period.

One more: most repairs/fixes to mcafee is to go to registry to fix the software problems. Fix it with a file and not editing the registry which should only be down by someone who know how to work with it.

Another thing is that quick clean lite cleans some registry entrys require the reinstallation of certain programs, games (Dear Hunter 5 by Info Games specially).

I feel that the special features do not work on Windows XP with NTFS and have been screwed like nuts and bolts.

On the outside of the box the statements that the software does not work with certain items is not right (like NTFS correctly). After peeling of the plastic, the buyer has bought a guaranteed piece of shit, I might have well as dump in a box and sold it.

I sincerely hope this is fixed or I am going to a free antivirus software.

We do not care for Norton so please do not post about it.
