HELP Hard Disks not booting!

Yo guys i need your help, I was at my gf's place today i was gonna format her little ol celeron add in xp pro and add in another 30 gb Hard drive for her. but after we couldnt get it to boot. windows xp setup launches, it detects the hard drive. but it cant boot from there. we changed the jumper settings, bios setttings everything. i brought it home to test. whenever it tries to boot from the HD it goes operating system not found. i have no idea. i have the jumprs correct!

PLEASE HELP

could be... the hdd boot sectors still contain old boot records.. use win98 boot disk and enter " fdisk /mbr" (no qtes) if you dont have the boot disk you can get one from bootdisk.com

i think you may want to try this also..
format a floppy disk using a windows "XP" machine
at command type.. format a: /u

and copy the following (without the lines) and save file as BOOT.INI also put this file onto the disk

C:\="Previous Operating System on C:\"

and manually copy files "NTDETECT.COM" and "NTLDR" from C:\ (of windows "XP" machine) onto the disk.
set system bios to boot from floppy and try to boot the XP from the floppy

oh i didnt read you wrote well.. have you finished up the xp installation?

it works fine on my comp... i think it was something with the jumpers. i hope it works tommorow when i take it over. i hope i didnt f**k it up. everytime i try to continue the xp installation it tries to boot from cd since it cant boot from HD. so it restarts the install basically. but i think it might be fixd lets see i dont wanna change the mobo or anything !!!

dont worry guys, there was a jumper pin problem fixed it. kickass, and got a makeout session out of it also! lol
