Vista 64-Bit System
I'm planning on upgrading my system to Vista Ultimate 64-bit shortly and I have a couple of questions. They mainly have to do with drivers right now. I've found pretty much all the 64-bit drivers for my new system sofar but cannot find drivers for two items that I use quite abit. One is a Linksys wireless adapter WUSB54GC and a Hauppage Wintv 150-PVR. I cannot find 64-bit drivers for either of these items. Would anybody know if there are drivers for these two items.
Also while I'm on the subject, if there are any tips anyone has for using a 64-bit system feel free to comment away as I will be exploring new territory and will have many questions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like Linksys hasn't released an drivers for Vista 64-bit for the wireless adaptor.
Hauppauge Computer Works : Support Hauppauge Digital: Support The 3.4D1 drivers there should work for your Hauppauge card, as should the 4.x drivers from the second link. I'm using the 4.1 drivers with my HVR-950, not really sure why Hauppauge doesn't keep their US and UK sites synced up for drivers versions. Edit: Linksys doesn't appear to have any wireless usb adaptors supporting Vista 64-bit, and these are the only ones D-Link has with drivers, didn't check any other manufacturers: D-Link WUA-1340 Wireless G USB Adapter D-Link WUA-2340 RangeBooster G USB Adapter

actually... there is a good chance that vista 64bit may have drivers already presupplied or available for download off the windows update for the usb adapters..
i know that a considerable number of hardware.. including usb wireless adapters... had absalutely zero "support" from the manufacturer... but after install vista 64bit..... plugged in the sucker, and it downloaded the drivers for it no problems.

Thanks, guys. I truly appreciate your help in this.
![]() As long as I'm here, I have another quick question. I've heard that it is best to only have have two of the four gigs installed when installing Vista 64-bit. Your supposed to add the other 2 gig after installation. Is this true or not?

That being said, I've installed Vista on a number of systems with 4/8GB, and have never seen the problem personally. Here's the MS kb article, if you're interested: Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on a computer that uses more than 3 GB of RAM: "STOP 0x0000000A"

same thing happened to me (BSOD every reboot after installing vista with 4GB ram)
weird issue but meh, remove 1 stick of 2gb and it's all good. installing vista on 2gb of ram still took less time than installing XP with 4gb |
