Default Post Probably a dumb question but i post as many of these as i can

Whats faster...PIII 1GHz or Celery 1.1? And i know the PIII is a lot more expensive
any benches anywhere on this combo?

Reason for asking, my mobo only supports CPUs as high as these. Thanks

For gaming it will be the PIII due to its larger on-chip cache

1.1GHz Celerons are, as far as I know, Tualatin-based. You should be able to use faster (>1.3GHz chips) without a big problem.

If you're going for a Socket370 CPU, I would probably just go for the Celeron. Tualatin-based Celerons are not as dogawful as their predecessors, and, since this is going to be a temporary setup, I'd just go with the cheaper proc'.
