well I know the recent press about the problems with IBM drives in the US, but ive always used IBM drives, I think they are very good.

I had a Maxtor drive fail on me recently, but they sent me a new drive, so I dont think ill be blacklisting them either.

keep your eyes open, dont just blindly follow the press.

How did I know you'd reply to this, Zardon?

At any rate, Zardon, I've discussed this before with you, and I'm really quite annoyed that you're telling me to not "blindly follow the press." I know you like IBM HDDs, and I know you've probably dealt with quite a few people that DO judge the drives on hearsay.

But I do not. If I had a digicam/webcam, I'd show you the dead drives I have. To date, I have had two IBMs, two WDs, no Maxtors, and no Seagates die on me. When I am at work, and someone brings their PC in for repair I think to myself "IBM or WD, for sure" and I am rarely wrong. Our machines at work have had multiple HDD failures -- and they were IBM, every time.

My opinion on IBM HDDs is based on my real world experience, not popular belief.
