Help Asap Pc Died?
Hey guys, i had been running my computer for a longgggg time with no shut downs, jsut the occasional restart... well anyways, last saturday morning i shut my computer off before work... come home 9 hours later and it won't start up, i tried everything to get it to turn back on and it just wont... i disconnected all teh connections and re-assembled them in hope of something maybe getting knocked loose... but nope.
a buddy of mine said its probably the power supply or cpu, the thing is... my PC still is getting power, as the motherboard lights up and my usb ports will light up... BUT my pc will not turn on... nothing.
need help asap!! thanks!

my dad tried switching the PSUs today and said he got it to work, as in start up and whatnot but it would only run for a few seconds, it was only a 180w Psu though... lol

sounds like the mobo but if you can try a sufficient power supply do that before you go out buying a new motherboard.

Wow 180w PSU.... I think my fans on the Stacker 830 use that much
Get a new PSU, today minimum of like 700W for a nice system. Never skimp on the PSU, it is after all powering all your other expensive parts.
But I still am going with that it is your motherboard that is dead, if the temp sensors went nuts it is a good indication something in the board failed, and it was only staying afloat because it had active power to it, and when the power was cut whatever was damage fully stopped working.

i'm replacing the PSU first to see if that fixes it, if not i guess i'll get a new mobo, i just think replacign a Psu is easier then a mobo lol

high performance graphics cards eats your power supply, a very high system overclock also eats the supply. otherwise, you won't need to buy a very high wattage power supply, just keep junk power supplies out of your PC.
